The 20-year-old has impressed the coaching staff at Old Trafford and a contract will see him play for them next seasonEnglish giants Manchester United are set to open talks with Leicester City over a possible £1.5m deal for Ghana international striker Jeffrey Schlupp.
Schlupp has been with United since January on a trial and negotiations have already been held between the two clubs over a permanent deal. Reports surfaced last week the Red Devils were close to signing the 20-year-old Ghanaian, who is primarily an attacker but can also play at left-back.
However, a deal is yet to be agreed. Media reports say a fee rising to £2.5 million after add-ons has been discussed, though no deal has been agreed as yet between the two parties.
“I think we'll be discussing this week what the next step is,” Nigel Pearson, the Leicester manager told the media in UK.
“He’s done well at United, he's played the last two games that he can play there so clearly it's going to have some effect this week."
Schlupp, who has made eight league appearances for Leicester this season, featured for Manchester United's Under-21s against Liverpool on Monday and West Ham on Friday with a chance to land a contract.
