PSG deny Ayews another domestic silverware in France
Paris Saint-Germain have once again denied the Ayew brothers another domestic title after kicking OM out of the Coupe de France
Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night beat Olympic Marseille 2-0 to progress to the quarter-final of the Coupe de France.
The defeat came just three days after Carlo Ancelloti’s men beat Marseille 2-0 in the French Ligue 1.
The match featured the Ayew brothers who were both helpless as the 1993 European champions saw another title dream evaporating.
Andre Dede Ayew started the match while his younger brother, Jordan Ayew who missed the weekend action because of a two-match suspension joined the action in the second half.
In October, PSG defeated OM in the round of 16 of the Coup de la Ligue.
The Capital club are also eight points ahead of OM in the domestic league campaign.
With Marseille crashing out of the Europa League very early, the only way to avoid a trophyless season is by winning the French Ligue one.
But PSG who are also three points above second placed, Lyon are hot favourites leaving the Ayews with no option than to end the season without a trophy out of the four major competitions this season.
