I want Black Stars return - Novara's Ahmed Barusso
The defensive midfielder believes he is in a good form to make a return to the national team and will honour any call from the coach
Ghana international Ahmed Apimah Barusso is still harbouring hopes of a Ghana return soon. The 2008 Africa Cup of Nations bronze medalist has not played for the four-time Africa champions since that tournament.
He said his hard work with his new club Novara will soon pay off.
“If the coach decides to call me I don’t think I will say no,” Barusso told Goal.com Ghana. “But it depends on what the coach wants from me.”
Meanwhile, the Ghana midfielder said the artificial pitch at his club Novara is the cause of his recent injuries.
The 28-year-old has been out for weeks with a knee injury after starting the season well with the Serie B side.
According to the former Roma player, training on the synthetic pitch appears to be having an adverse effect on his health.
“It’s been difficult for me the past few weeks now, I had some knee injuries because of the synthetic field here.
“So we are off the pitch now and we are hoping next week we will be back with the team and things will go well for us,” Barusso added.
