The on-loan Arsenal midfielder says coach Kwesi Appiah has been in touch with him recently, and he hopes to make the cut for the Sudan game in Kumasi
Frimpong was cleared to play for Ghana late last year but missed out on Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations squad.
The midfield enforcer who is on a six-month loan at Fulham from Arsenal is hoping that his loan move to Craven Cottage will help him catch the eye of Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah.
“I want to play for Ghana and, hopefully, I can start doing that very soon,” Frimpong told the London Evening Standard.
“That is my aim, to get into the squad. But for that to happen, I need to start playing regularly.”
Frimpong added: “I spoke to the manager recently and he said I should just carry on playing my football and see what happens for the next game. That is next month so we will have to wait and see what he decides.”
