Collapsed Paintsil revived and discharged from hospital after suffering dehydration
The Hapoel Tel Aviv watchman was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday morning after collapsing in his residence, but the cause remains unknown
Ghana defender John Paintsil has been discharged from hospital after collapsing on Tuesday, hospital sources tell Goal.com Ghana.The former Fulham and West Ham rearguard was rushed to the Ghana-Canada Hospital at East Legon in Accra after passing out in his Trasacco Valley residence.
An official statement from his media adviser, Ebenezer Aidoo, said the defender suffered from "exhaustion and dehydration."
"The past five days have taken a severe emotional toll on the entire Paintsil family, Richlove and John especially, and that toll manifested itself in the unfortunate incident this morning.
"The Paintsil family is immensely grateful to the Government of Ghana and the Ghana Football Association for the big support they have given and continue to give the family," the statement added.
The deputy captain of the Black Stars is on a police enquiry bail for allegedly assaulting his wife, Richlove, last Friday over news that he slept with prostitutes in South Africa during the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
He is scheduled to sign a bond to be of good behaviour after the principal complainant struck out the case at the Legon Police Station in Accra.
