Ghana's Jeffery Schlupp’s Manchester United debut ends in victory

Jeffery Schlupp impressed as a striker for United on the first competitive outing of his spell on trial from Leicester City

Ghana international Jeffery Schlupp made his first Manchester United outing in an Under-21s premier League Elite Group Derby in St Helens on Monday.

Schlupp, who has been on trial from Championship side Leicester City for over a month, troubled Liverpool with his pace and could have scored several times in either halves.

The 20-year-old who sees a lot of positive signs in his first Manchester United outing took to his microblogging network Twitter to thank his fans for the support.

“Thanks for all the nice messages everyone! much appreciated,” Schlupp tweeted.

Schlupp made his Leicester debut thanks to Sven Goran Eriksson in 2011 at age 18. He has played nine games for Leicester this season, and scored six times in 26 games for the Foxes in 2011-12.

Schlupp who has only one international cap made his Ghana debut against Gabon, coming on as a late substitute for Prince Tagoe.
