We will die for mother Ghana, says Black Satellites midfielder Salifu Seidu

Black Satellites midfielder Salifu Seidu said the team is ready to die for Ghana and will be aiming to emulate the victorious 2009 team that conquered both Africa and the world.The Black Satellites, who will be making their ninth appearance at the Africa Youth championship next month, have been pitted against hosts Algeria, Benin and Egypt in group A.
The Wa All Stars playmaker told GBC URA Radio Sports in Bolgatanga that the team is ready to make the west African side proud once again and will give out their best when they go for the tournament in Algeria.
“We will be going all out to do ourselves and mother Ghana proud, and we are very ready to die for our dear nation which is always expectant when it comes to football. So with Allah by our side I am sure we will make our nation proud,” Seidu said.
According to him, what happened to the previous Satellites team where they failed to go pass the group stages in South Africa will spur them on to do more.
Meanwhile, the 18-year-old has admitted it will be difficult to emulate the 2009 team’s feat, but that he is banking his hopes on head coach Sellas Tetteh, who led the 2009 side to gold, to put up the best in the team by bringing his experience to bear.
The Black Satellites will embark on a training tour to Italy and Spain to streamline the rough edges ahead of the Africa U20 championship next month in Algeria from March 16 to 30.
