Ghana youth international Baba Abdul Rahman is without a club coach after Greuther Furth sacked their man on the touchline Mike Buskens on Wednesday.
The promoted club have won only two games in 22 top-flight fixtures this season and lie bottom of the table - 14 points behind fourth-bottom Wolfsburg.
Buskens, who led Furth to the Second Division title last season, was notified of the club's decision on Wednesday.
Buskens was involved in the signing of the Ghana international from giants Kumasi Asante Kotoko on a five-year contract which expires in June 2017.
Meanwhile, Schalke 04 are said to be monitoring the defender, who has been impressive in the Bundesliga on his debut.
Greuther Furth’s Under-23 coach Ludwig Preis and sporting director Rouven Schroder will oversee first-team affairs until a permanent replacement is appointed.
