Wa All Stars won’t be relegated - Seidu Zida

The acting skipper of the Premier League outfit is optimistic his side could finish among the top four in the top flight

The stand-in captain for Wa All Stars Seidu Zida has said the club would not be involved in the relegation battle as the second round of the Ghana Premier League kick starts this weekend.

Zida served notice All Stars would rather be aiming for a more comfortable position on the log.

All Stars have had a very difficult first round league campaign with three wins, six draws and six defeats out of the 15 matches played, to amass 15 points.

The Wa-based side will open their second round league battle with a home tie against Kpando Heart of Lions on Sunday at the Wa Sports Stadium.

However, the former Black Satellites player who is now the acting captain of the side after the departure of previous skipper Robert Dabuo to Ashantigold has told GBC Ura Radio Sports in Bolgatanga that he is more than confident the team has all it takes to end the league at a respectable spot.

“We did not get a good start in the first round and I think with the addition of new players like Atia Sumaila who is joining us from Medeama and Eric Mensah who has formerly played for Asante Kotoko, I believe the second round is going to be a very good round for us and I won’t be surprise if we end up in the top four,” he said.
