Young Ghana international goalkeeper Samuel Barley Issifu has stated that the remarkable performance of Black Stars first-choice goalkeeper Fatau Dauda in the just ended Africa Cup of Nations will be the yardstick in which Ghanaian shot-stoppers in South Africa will be measured.
The talented 21-year-old goal tender, who plies his trade with Atlie FC in the South African First Division, emphasised he will be up to the task to raise the flag of Ghana high in the Rainbow Nation.
“Fatau did a great job in South Africa during the just ended Afcon,” Barley told Goal.com Ghana. “His performance is a morale booster for me in particular and that is what they will use to assess us.”
“My dream is to continue to play well for my club and I am also eyeing a Black Stars call-up in order for me to prove myself in the national colours.”
Barley captained DC United/Asante Akim Missiles - a second-tier side in Konongo, which also featured now Evian Thonon Gaillard and Black Stars midfielder Rabiu Mohammed.
He also played for Kumasi King Faisal before being signed by the South African side last summer.
