Mohammed Abu's Ligue one bow starts on a winning note

The Right to Dream Academy product made his first appearance in the French Ligue 1 for Les Merlus

Ghana international Mohammed Abu made his French Ligue 1 debut for FC Lorient on Saturday.

The on-loan Manchester City player came on as a substitute in the 73rd minute and helped his side to record a 2-1 win over Evian.

Abu who is on his fourth loan stint since joining Manchester City in 2010 joined the French Ligue 1 club from Spanish side, Rayo Vallecano.

The 21-year-old has also had loan stints with German side Eintracht Frankfurt and Stromsgodset in Norway.

He was also part of Ghana’s squad for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea..
