Ghana international Samuel Afum was left disappointed after what could have been his debut goal for Swiss side Young Boys was considered an illegitimate one.
Young Boys eventually lost 2-0 to Grasshopper in the Swiss league leaving Afum to keep on dreaming about his first goal for the club in the ensuing matches.
The 22-year-old was given clearance by Fifa on Friday making him eligible to play after his former Egyptian club Smouha refused to release his International Transfer Certificate.
“I felt disappointed when the referee said I was found in the offside position because everybody who saw the replay said it was a good goal," the former Ghana goal king told Goal.com Ghana.
“It was a little difficult because I haven’t played competitively for a while now.
“We lost against the league leaders and I think we have to look forward to the next games and see how it will go," he added.
