Sudan game to decide Kwesi Appiah’s fate – Ghana FA official

After failing to win the 2013 Afcon in South Africa, the Black Stars coach has another chance to prove himself in Ghana's World Cup qualifier or will face the sack

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah will have to come good against the Nile Crocodiles of Sudan in next month's World Cup qualifier or face being sacked. Ghana understands that there is division within the Ghana FA as some of them want his immediate dismissal but a consensus was later reached to allow him stay for the next crucial game.

“Appiah has to win the World Cup qualifier against Sudan next month or we will have no other alternative than to sack him,” a close source within the FA hinted Ghana.

“After failing to win the [2013] Afcon, this is his last chance and he must deliver because we cannot afford to miss out on the Brazil 2014 World Cup.”

The Black Stars will face Sudan at home on March 22 in which only a win will put Ghana back on track for qualifying for next year’s global football showpiece.

Currently, the 2010 World Cup quarter-finalists are in second place and three points behind Zambia who won a protest against Sudan.
