The Porcupine Warriors want to do more than Berekum Chelsea did in last season’s outing in Africa as they gear up to kick off their campaign with Sony Nguema this weekend
Asante Kotoko head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani believes the club needs to surpass the thrilling exploits of last season’s Caf Champions League representatives Berekum Chelsea insisting anything below that will be no achievement.
The former Black Maidens trainer, who is preparing the Ghana league champions for the continent’s inter-club showpiece’s preliminary clash with Equatorial Guinea’s Sony Nguema on Sunday, claims the Porcupine Warriors are battle ready to make an impact on the continent yet again.
“I think that we didn’t just concentrate on the Afcon which just ended, so I think there will not be any distractions as perceived,” the coach said.
Dramani added: “There's no need to set herculean tasks for ourselves but at least we want to reach the (Money Zone) group stages because Berekum Chelsea have already done it so the target should be above that.
“Our travails start on Sunday against Sony Nguema and I hope we get a respectable score line but most importantly keeping a clean sheet at home always helps.”
