The management of New Edubiase United is considering pulling out of this year’s Caf Confederations Cup competition due to financial difficulties.
Just three days to their maiden continental football against Congolese side Dables Noirs, officials say they have no money to fund the club.
The FA Cup holders have become incapacitated financially following the demise of bankroller David Lamptey.
Edubiase must cough out close to $120, 000 for the two-legged tie and will also need over two million dollars for the group stages.
This will be a major blow to the Ghana Football Association following a similar stand that Nania FC embarked on last season.
Ghana’s two slots in the continental club competition are under a huge threat if New Edubiase pull out.
The club has written to the GFA and Ghalca but is yet to receive any feedback.
The Bekwai-based side faces at least a three-year ban from continental football if they finally make their position official to Caf.
