The veteran will not be paid for January because he refused to report throughout the month and has been slapped with an indefinite suspension for assaulting club's accountant
According to the Public Relations Officer of the club, Muheeb Saeed, the player is also serving an indefinite suspension for assaulting the club’s accountant.
“Laryea told us that he was going for trials in Brunei and when he came he did not report to the club. He was in Ghana when we played Medeama and King Faisal,” Saeed told Accra-based Asempa FM.
“It was even on radio that we heard he has come to Ghana and has played in a charity game somewhere so we deem it right not to pay him in January as he did not work.”
Later in a press statement, the spokesperson said: “The Management of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club Limited has decided to suspend midfielder Laryea Kingston indefinitely without pay.
“The decision, which takes immediate effect, follows an inquiry that corroborated the Club Accountant's report that the player assaulted him in the full glare of supporters at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, 1st February, 2013 just after the Hearts-Apex F.C friendly match.”
Laryea, 33, has been the centre of controversy since joining the Phobians as he was given an indefinite ban for breaking camp rules in the tenure of sacked coach CK Akunnor.
