Ghana international midfielder Mohammed Abu has joined French Ligue 1 side Lorient on loan till the end of the season.
The anchor man was inline for a move to Danish side FC Nordsjaelland but the deal could not materialise and has thus joined the French side
Lorient club confirmed on their official website that they have acquired the services of the Ghanaian.
“Abu Mohammed (21) capped five times by Ghana and from Manchester City has joined Lorient till the end of the 2012/13 season,” a statement said.
A roving player, Abu who is owned by English champions Manchester City had a torrid time with Spanish side Rayo Vallecano where he has played just thrice this season.
He has already being on loan at Stromgodset and his deal with Manchester City expires in 2014.
