Medeama set to appoint Tanko Shaibu as head coach if Akunnor move fails

The Tarkwa-based club is bent on signing the sacked Hearts of Oak coach, but could elevate their assistant trainer if talks with Akunnor hit a snag
Ghana Glo Premier League leaders Medeama Sporting Club will appoint Shaibu Tanko as their coach for the rest of the season if move for C.K Akunnor falls through. Ghana understands the duo are the front runners for the job on interim basis with the former Accra Hearts of Oak man on the touchline being the main target of the Tarkwa-based club.

Tanko was the assistant of Bashir Hayford, who left the club for AshantiGold earlier this week, and he is seen as an ideal option to lead the club if talks with the former Ghana international fail to materialise.

Akunnor on the other side is yet to get a club after being shown the exit by the Phobians earlier this season due to poor performance.
