President Mahama appoints Elvis Afriyie Ankrah as sports minister designate

The former deputy local government minister is set to replace Clement Kofi Humado as Ghana's minister of Sports

President John Mahama has nominated Elvis Afriyie Ankrah as the minister designate of the Sports Ministry.

If he is approved by the appointments committee of parliament, he will replace Clement Kofi Humado who has been moved to the Ministry of Agriculture.

Afriyie Ankrah, 46, formerly served as deputy Local Government minister.

He was once a president of the Student’s representative council of the University of Ghana.
