The official has been tasked to ensure Ghana's successful preparation and participation in the tournament in South Africa

Former Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, Dr. Edward Omane-Boamah, has been assigned the responsibility of coordinating Ghana’s participation in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in South Africa.

A statement from the Presidency and signed by Presidential Spokesperson John Abdulai Jinapor said President John Mahama has tasked Dr. Omane-Boamah to ensure Ghana's successful preparation and participation in the tournament.

The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations kicks off on January 19th and ends on February 10th, 2013.

Ghana have been paired in Group B against Niger, Mali and DR Congo
