Amidaus Professionals midfielder Yahaya Mohammed is saddened by his inability to make the Black Stars team for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations due to a groin injury.
The in-form Ghana Premier League sensation was among the provisional 26-man squad for pre-tournament camping, but will have to sit out for three to four weeks to fully recover.
The on-loan Asante Kotoko player said he is gutted by the injury news but believes there are better playing days ahead.
“I am very sad because I really wanted to play in the competition but I guess God knows best,” Mohammed told Accra-based Happy FM.
“I felt pains in my thigh and thought it was a normal thing. But when I contacted the Black Stars doctor he said I will need up to four weeks to recover.”
“The coach called me to express his disappointments over the injury. I have taken it in good faith. There are more games after the Nations Cup,” the attacking midfielder added.
