The leading Ghana Premier League goal scorer is determined to overcome his injury worries and hope for a better year as he misses the 2013 AfconAmidaus Professionals midfielder Yahaya Mohammed is saddened by his inability to make the Black Stars team for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations due to a groin injury.
The in-form Ghana Premier League sensation was among the provisional 26-man squad for pre-tournament camping, but will have to sit out for three to four weeks to fully recover.
The on-loan Asante Kotoko player said he is gutted by the injury news but believes there are better playing days ahead.
“I am very sad because I really wanted to play in the competition but I guess God knows best,” Mohammed told Accra-based Happy FM.
“I felt pains in my thigh and thought it was a normal thing. But when I contacted the Black Stars doctor he said I will need up to four weeks to recover.”
“The coach called me to express his disappointments over the injury. I have taken it in good faith. There are more games after the Nations Cup,” the attacking midfielder added.
