Liberty - Asante Kotoko game deferred due to John Mahama’s swearing-in event

The match-day-15 fixture between the Porcupine Warriors and the Dansoman-based club has been postponed to next week for security reasons ahead of the inaugural ceremony
The final game for the first round of the Ghana Premier League between Liberty Professionals and Asante Kotoko has been deferred due to the swearing-in ceremony of President John Mahama.

According to a statement from the Premier League Board, the fixture has been rescheduled to Sunday, January 13.

The venue for the match-day-15 fixture is still the Accra Sports Stadium, the statement added.

The change was confirmed by the PLB on Saturday after consultation with the planning committee for the Presidential inauguration ceremony.

According to the PLB, due to on-going works around the precincts of the stadium and security considerations for Monday's swearing-in, the fixture has been moved forward by a week.

Both teams were earlier scheduled to have played on Sunday, January 6.
