The boss of the Miners has categorically stated his leading marksman would not be sold to the Porcupine Warriors, but could head to Turkey or TunisiaThe Chief Executive Officer of Ashanti Gold Football Club, Kudjoe Fianoo, has emphatically stated that the club's leading striker Yakubu Mohammed is not moving to Kumasi Asante Kotoko for the second round of this season's Ghana Premier League.
“You do not give your best weapon to your rival when you and them are after the same laurel,” he told Kumasi-based Hello FM. “Kotoko have officially written to us but we are not selling Yakubu to them.”
“There are clubs in Turkey and Tunisia who have also expressed interest in him and it is possible he will go outside after the season ends.”
Fianoo added: “Yakubu is a very level headed boy who is in no rush as he seeks to win the goal king race in this season’s league which will shoot up his price for a better deal.”
Mohammed has been one of the revelations in this season’s domestic top flight where he has been banging in the goals for fun, and currently he is on the radar of the Porcupine Warriors, Hearts of Oak and Berekum Chelsea.
