The midfielder is not seeing any team as a pushover at the Nations Cup and believes Ghana can go far if they respect every country
The four-time African champions have been drawn in Group B with DR Congo, Mali and Niger.
The 22-year-old Espanyol midfielder believes the Black Stars must give off their best in order to go far in the African showpiece.
“I don't think the Nations Cup will be easy for us,” Wakaso told Accra-based Asempa FM. “We have to work hard if we want to win.”
“We want the fans to support and pray for us. I am confident we can win the cup.”
Wakaso added: “We're not going to underrate any team because if we do, it could prove disastrous for us.
“I don’t think we should underrate any team. What is important for us is to work hard and keep our eyes on the ball.”
Ghana will begin preparations in Abu Dhabi on January 5, in their quest to end a 31-year wait of a Nations Cup trophy.
