Member of Parliament promises to develop football in the Western region

The former Army officer who has been elected as a legislator says his passion for sports will motivate him to develop football in his constituency and beyond

The newly elected Member of Parliament for the Jomoro constituency, Wing Commander Francis Anaman, said he will help develop football in the Western region of Ghana.

Wing Commander Anaman said he is very concerned about football and will use his office to work towards that.

Western region currently has only one club in the Ghanaian top flight which is Medeama Sc.

But the incoming legislator wants to help not only his constituency but the region at large to improve on that with former campaigners, Sekondi Hasaacas and Eleven Wise still in the second-tier.

“I love sports because I was as sportsman during my school days," the MP-elect told reporters.

“While campaigning, I realised that the youth are in dire need of pitches and jerseys and this is one of the things I will want to address."

Anaman added: “I will love to see my region getting more than one team in the top flight so I will also do well to help in that aspect.”
