The 30-year-old has finally overcome his injury worries as he makes a return to the Los Blancos side
Ghana midfielder Michael Essien has been called to duty for Real Madrid as Jose Mourinho's men prepare to take on Valladolid at the Nuevo Zorrilla on Saturday night.
The former Lyon midfielder has been out of action in the past two weeks and only made a return to training last Saturday.
Essien was dropped for Tuesday's 4-1 Uefa Champions League victory over Ajax due to precautionary measures.
But the 30-year-old has been named in the 20-man squad for Madrid's match-day- 15 fixture.
