Michael Essien fails to make Real Madrid squad for Ajax clash after recovering from injury

The 'Bison' has been overlooked for Tuesday's match with Ajax for precautionary reasons after making a return to full fitness and also training twice with the team

Ghana midfielder, Michael Essien will sit out of Real Madrid's  Uefa champions league match against Ajax Amsterdam on Tuesday night at the Bernabeu.

The on-loan Chelsea midfielder who turned 30 on Monday has been out for two weeks but made a full recovery over the weekend.

He trained with the team yesterday and joined in the final session ahead of the champions league match on Monday morning.

Jose Mourinho might be employing a precautionary measure in order to make the player extra healthy for the rest of the season.

He could make a return to the team this weekend when Real Madrid play away to Valladolid in the Spanish La Liga.
