Ghana FA says Emmanuel Frimpong must fight for his place in the Black Stars

The Communications Director of the Ghana FA says Arsenal midfielder, Emmanuel Frimpong must be bracing up for a tough competition in the Ghana team

Ghana FA’s communication director, Ibrahim Saani Daara says his outfit is excited that Fifa have finally sorted out the nationality switch of Emmanuel Frimpong.

The 20-year-old who is on-loan at Charlton Athletic from Arsenal was given the go-ahead on Tuesday.

The nationality switch of the Kumasi born player was abnormally delayed  with Fifa occasionally accusing the Ghana FA for failing to submit all the documents needed.

In recent times, the player himself resorted to twitter to take a swipe at Fifa for the delay.

Frimpong is now available for selection as Ghana prepares for the 2013 Africa cup of nations in South Africa.

“The coach keeps everything to his chest but I can say like all the other players, Frimpong has an equal chance of making it to the nations cup.

If the coach thinks he is the right person for the Afcon, it is his choice but let’s realize that we have a very tough midfield.”

It’s not a walk in the park at all to play in the midfield of the Ghana team,” Ghana FA spokesperson, Ibrahim Saani Daara told Ghana.

Emmanuel Frimpong has previously played for the U-16 and U-17 sides of England.
