The Heracliedien boss believes the midfielder deserves a national team call-up due to his impressive performance in the Dutch EredivisieThe president of Dutch Eredivisie side Heracles Almelo, John Smith, is surprised Kwame Quansah has always been snubbed by Ghana when players are called for the Black Stars, despite his impressive run in the Dutch league.
“It is very strange and a shame that a good player like Quansah is not part of his country's national team, he is very good and one always wonders why Ghana don't call him,” the Heracles president told the press after the club honoured the Ghanaian for making his 250th appearance for the team.
“Kwame has been the most consistent African player in The Netherlands over five years now and he has exhibited that he is a quality footballer.”
The midfielder who signed for the Heracliedien during the 2004-2005 season has previously played for Ajax Amsterdam, Germinal Beerschot and Swedish side AIK Stockholm.
Quansah, 30, made his Black Stars debut in a friendly against South Africa on October 15, 2008 and up till now he has only two Black Stars caps to his name.
