The Ghana FA has settled on the Sekondi stadium to give other people in different parts of the country a feel of the beautiful game when it comes to national assignmentsThe Black Starlets of Ghana will play their South African counterparts in the second leg of the final eliminator for the 2013 African Under-17 tournament at the Essipong Stadium in Sekondi.
The decision was taken by the Ghana FA at a meeting, despite calls by the public for the game to be held either in Accra or Kumasi.
“The match will be played at Essipong Stadium in Sekondi as we wish to utilize all the stadia we are having,” a close source to the GFA hinted Goal.com Ghana.
“Also we do not want to concentrate everything in Accra and Kumasi. People in other regions should also have a feel of our various national teams, remember the under 20s played in Tamale and it was good.”
After laboring five years without making it to the Africa edition, the junior national team is bent on qualifying this time around after recording a 3-2 away win over South Africa over the weekend.
The Morocco 2013 African U17 Championship which will see the four semi-finalists qualifying for the World Cup in UAE starts on April 13 to April 27.
