The Black Starlets hold the advantage ahead of the second leg in Accra after recording a 3-2 victory over South Africa in the first leg of the last stage of the CAN U-17 qualifiers
Ghana’s under 17 side sealed a 3-2 away victory over the Amajimbos of South Africa in the first leg of the last stage of the Africa U-17 championship qualifiers on Saturday.
A brace from Paul Asare Devries and a strike by David Atanga ensured the two-time world champions left South Africa with a vital win.
The Black Starlets who have missed the two previous editions are advantaged going into the second leg in Accra in two weeks time.
That was the first match for Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin’s men who progressed automatically into the final stage of the qualifiers after The Gambia withdrew.
The Africa under 17 championships will be staged in Morocco in April next year.
