Inter Milan's Alfred Duncan says he can make the mark in the Ghana Black Stars team

The 19-year-old is confident his qualities and contributions will not go unnoticed if he gets the chance to make his Black Stars bow against Cape Verde on Wednesday night

Inter Milan midfielder, Joseph Alfred Duncan says he is hoping to make the mark with the Black Stars if he gets the chance to play in the friendly match against Cape Verde.

The 19-year-old has been handed his debut call-up after he was promoted to the Inter Milan senior tam just this season.

He will be hoping to impress the handlers in order to attract further call- ups and possibly a place in Ghana’s team for the 2013 Afcon.

“It feels great to part of this team full of experienced players and I am hoping to repay back the confidence reposed in me by the handlers.

“I can easily adapt and I am also ambidextrous though I play with more of my left foot.

“I am both a defensive and offensive midfielder but from the Inter Milan Primavera days, most of the coaches use me in the defensive role,” Duncan said.

Duncan also revealed how excited he was when he was noticed of the call-up.

He was earlier invited to play for the country’s under 20 team, the Black Satellites in the qualifiers for the Africa Under 20 championship but Inter Milan did not allow him to leave.

Ghana’s match against Cape Verde will be played at the University of Lisbon stadium in Portugal on Wednesday night.
