Asamoah Gyan scores brace before leaving for Ghana to mourn the death of his mother

The 26-year-old put the death of his mother behind him and went ahead to score two goals to take his tally to 14 in seven matches

Ghana captain, Asamoah Gyan continued with his goal scoring spree in the UAE pro-league after scoring two goals for Al Ain on Thursday night.

The 26-year-old scored both goals in their match against Al Shabab to stay on top of the top scorers' chart with 14 goals in seven matches.

It happened two days after his mother passed away following a car crash in Ghana's capital, Accra.

The former Sunderland player did not allow the death of his mum to affect him as he continued to lead the attack lines of the defending champions with ease.

Gyan will arrive in Accra on Friday morning to join the rest of his family to mourn the death of his mother.

He has been excused from Ghana’s friendly match against Cape Verde in Lisbon, Portugal on November 13.
