The 18-year-old left footed striker has long being the target of major European clubs including the Blues, the Gunners, Ajax and Bayer Munich, but the two premiership giants are leading the race to sign him in January.
Amankwaa, who recently turned down a trial with Chelsea and Arsenal as it coincided with club assignment.
“I have heard about the interest and I also know that there have been other clubs apart from Chelsea, who wanted me for trial, but it did not fit into the schedule here. But of course it’s nice to know there is interest,” Amankwaa told bold.dk when he declined to move early on.
Scouts of Chelsea and Arsenal watched him again when he made his Copenhagen senior debut against Sonderjyske on November 1. He scored in their 3-0 win and exclusive reports reaching Goal.com Ghana are that Copenhagen have finally agreed to let him go to England for the trials.
