thumbnail Hello,

RTU's campaign has further suffered a jolt as the Ghana FA suspends all home matches at their home grounds due to the misbehavior of their fans

The Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association has temporarily banned the Tamale Sports Stadium from hosting premier league matches.

The decision was arrived at following two separate cases of violence exhibited by the management and supporters of Real Tamale United Football Club, who use the grounds for their home matches in the on-going Glo Premier League.

The Executive Committee has directed the Premier League Board to select appropriate venues for the home games of Real Tamale United until the case is finally determined by the Disciplinary Committee.

"The GLO Premier League matches between Real Tamale United and Aduana Stars (21st October, 2012) and Medeama S.C. (28th October, 2012) which were played at the Tamale Sports Stadium witnessed violent conduct by Management and supporters of Real Tamale United Football Club which led to brutal attacks on the Referees and their Assistants sustaining various degrees of injuries at the end of the matches.

"In view of the above, the Executive Committee has ordered a temporary closure of the Tamale Sports Stadium, the home venue of Real Tamale United with immediate effect," this is according to a statement published on the official website of the Ghana FA.

The Tamale-based club made a return to the Glo premier league after a year in the second tier.

They are yet to win a match after week five and the ban will certainly exarcebate their woes.
