The long-term servant of the Phobians thinks it will be unwise to get rid of their coach because of the poor start to the season
A director of Accra Hearts of Oak, Frank Nelson has jumped to the defense of the beleaguered coach of the club, C.K Akunnor.
Akunnor is under pressure from the fans to quit after supervising a disastrous start to their 2012-2013 campaign.
The Phobians have lost three successive matches and have amassed four points out of a possible 15.
“For me personally, I think it will be wrong to sack C.K now, we need to first find out the problem with the team because it could end up not being a technical problem,” Nelson told Accra based, Radio XYZ.
The former Management member of the club added that it will be imperative to give the coach all the support he needs since he thinks he has what it takes to rescue the team’s poor run.
Akunnor, a former Ghana and Wolfsburg captain whose team lie 13th on the 16-team table has already said he wants to stay.Meanwhile, Goal.com Ghana can confirm that the board of directors will hold a crisis meeting on Wednesday to address all the cracks in the team.
