Afriyie Acquah wants permanent Black Stars stay

The emerging midfield star hopes he is able to impress the Black Stars handlers to enable him enjoy consistent invitations

Ghana midfielder, Afriyie Acquah is confident of making his Black Stars call up permanent.

The Parma player received a late call up into the team after the withdrawal of Udinese’s Emmanuel Agyemang Badu due to a knee injury ahead of Saturday’s final 2013 Afcon qualifier against Malawi.

The 20-year-old who joined Parma on loan from Palermo has one international cap after playing for the Black Stars in a friendly match against Chile in February.

Acquah says his main aim to impress the technical handlers to make his stay in the team permanent.

“I’m elated that I’m being given another opportunity to play for my country and I’m hoping to do well.

“The call up can only help me as a player and hopefully I can help the team win against Malawi,” the former Bechem United player told 90 minutes.

Ghana hold a 2-0 lead from the first leg played last month in Accra.
