Knee injury forces Udinese’s Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu out of Malawi clash

Coach Kwesi Appiah has replaced the midfielder with another Italian-based player Afriyie Acquah for the Lilongwe clash next week
Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu will not be part of the 21-man squad released for the crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Malawi.

The Udinese midfielder suffered a knee injury while playing for his Italian Serie A side Udinese in the Europa League against Liverpool on Thursday.

Coach Kwesi Appiah has replaced him with another Italian-based midfielder Afriyie Acquah of Parma for the Lilongwe clash next week.

The Black Stars beat the Flames 2-0 in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium. A draw or a win is all that the four-time African champions need to qualify for South Africa 2013.
