The Black Stars trio will be contesting against the likes of Didier Drogba, Yaya Toure, Gervinho, Arouna Kone, Cheick Tiote and Seydou Doumbia among others
They are Olympique Marseille’s Andre Dede Ayew, Kwadwo Asamoah of Juventus and Udinese midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu.
Ayew was nominated for scoring 16 goals in 39 appearances for his French Ligue 1 side in the 2011-2012 season as well as helping the Black Stars reach the semi-finals of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
Asamoah produced some fine performances in Udinese shirt in the Italian Serie A in 2011-2012 season before signing for Italian champions Juventus this summer, while Agyemang-Badu made the cut for his performance in the year under review after having helped his side qualify for Europa league.
The Ghanaian trio will be contesting against old guards - Cote d'Ivoire's Didier Drogba, reigning African king Yaya Toure, Gervinho, Arouna Kone, Cheick Tiote and Seydou Doumbia.
Reigning African champions Zambia have four players on the list - Christopher Katongo, Stopilla Sunzu, Emmanuel Mayuka and Rainford Kalaba.
Three Nigerian players John Obi Mikel, John Utaka and Victor Moses make the list while there are two Cameroonian representatives in Alexander Song and Nicolas Nkoulou.
Senegal is represented by Demba Ba, Papiss Cisse, Moussa Konate and Moussa Sow.
Meanwhile, Esperance duo of Harrison Afful and Emmanuel Clottey as well as Berekum Chelsea’s Solomon Asante also made the list of 34 players in contention for best African based player.
The awards will be held in Accra, Ghana on December 20, 2012.
