I resigned from King Faisal on personal grounds & not to join Hearts of Oak – Vincent Odotei

The football administrator has not ruled out a possibility of joining the Phobians, but insists he resigned from Faisal for personal reasons
Former chief executive of King Faisal Vincent Sowah Odotei has said he did not resign from the Kumasi-based side to take up the same vacant position at Accra Hearts of Oak.

Odotei is highly tipped to be a likely successor to Fred Crentsil, who resigned his position as boss of the Phobians to become the vice-president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

Odotei, however, insists his resignation has “nothing to do with Hearts of Oak.”

“The news is out there, but I’m not really concerned with what happen at Hearts,” he told Accra-based Joy FM.

“I have to take some time and look at my options but for now my decision to quit Faisal is based on personal reasons.”

Hearts of Oak begin this season’s Ghana Premier League campaign with a trip away to face Tema Youth on Wednesday, October 10.
