The experienced right-back who is now active at club level dreams of return to the national team ahead of the Afcon 2013 championships

Hapoel Tel Aviv's right-back John Paintsil is eagerly awaiting his return to the senior national team after ending his inactiveness at club level.

The 31-year-old has been out of the Black Stars since the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea largely due to the lack of games at club level a few months ago.

But after switching to his former base Israel and playing actively for Hapoel Tel Aviv, the former Westham and Fulham player said he will gladly welcome an invitation back to international duties.

“I am ever ready to come and play again, if even they call me today, I will come,” he told Happy Sports.

“Some of us have the experience and I thank God I am playing regularly which is good for me. I have been able to write my name on the plate so when I am called I won't turn my back on my country,” he added.

Paintsil has four Nation’s Cup appearances and two Fifa World Cup appearances to his credit.

Meanwhile, Goal.com Ghana can confirm that Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah is willing to give him the chance back into the team after unimpressive performances by Samuel Inkoom and Daniel Opare who played in his absence.
