The 20-year-old midfielder will be on the bench for the Gunners tonight as they get set to face Coventry in the League CupArsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed Emmanuel Frimpong will be on the bench when the Gunners take on Coventry in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday.
The 20-year-old has recovered from an anterior cruciate ligament injury he sustained while on loan at Wolves February this year.
The midfielder experienced a similar problem in his left knee in 2010, but the Frenchman said Frimpong is ready to make his long-awaited return today.
“The good news is that Frimpong will be on the bench, and if possible, we will put him on,” Wenger told the club website. “It’s a big moment for him. He has suffered for a long time and has worked extremely hard.”
“Once you are back, you want so much a chance to be involved. So I want to give him a chance to be involved, physically Emmanuel has never been as fit as he is now. That should come out in the next two months,” Wenger added.
