The coach has declared his commitment towards working hard to bring success to the Black Stars after losing 2-0 to Liberia in an international friendly
The Black Stars were defeated 2-0 to the Lone Star, after they had successfully beaten Malawi 2-0 three days earlier in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers first leg.
“We paid for our mistakes, recovered well but we couldn't get the goals needed to turn around the game,” Appiah told the official Ghana FA website.
Despite the loss, and the influx of public criticism, Appiah remained optimistic, deciding to highlight the positives over his four games in charge and focus on them. “There was a lot of good that came from the game but we lost and we need to improve,” he said.
“Arguably we prepare to win every match we enter into. But we are going to give players the opportunity to prove themselves.''
Coach Appiah declared his commitment towards working hard to bring success to the team amidst public pessimism and worry over the Black Stars’ unconvincing displays.
“I am very proud to be the coach of Ghana and I will fight to keep the Black Stars improving and moving forward,” he said.
The Black Stars face Malawi on October 12 at the Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre, Malawi.
