Globacom has unveiled its soccer academy called ‘Glo Soccer Academy’- a TV reality show designed to discover and train talented young footballers in West Africa.

The concept of the Glo Soccer Academy is to provide a once in a lifetime opportunity for young talented footballers to kick-start their career in professional football.

The Glo Soccer Academy will scout through Ghana, Benin and Nigeria. Celebrity coaches will train about 33 talented participants for five weeks in a soccer academy based in Lagos, Nigeria.

Sixteen finalists will emerge from the 33 participants. The final 16 will stand the chance to earn mouth-watering prizes including cash, scholarships and also a training tour with Manchester United Soccer Schools.

The board and management of Globacom is calling on the youth in Ghana, Nigeria, and Benin
Republic to take advantage of the Glo Soccer Academy as a first step towards realizing their
potentials.

“We at Globacom foresee the Glo Soccer Academy growing to become a turning point in the lives of talented fledgling footballers in our markets across West Africa,” the telecom giants said in a press statement.

The final winner out of the 16 players at the Academy will win the ultimate prize of GHC 60,000 for being the Most Valuable Player (MVP) , while the rest will win GHC 10,000 plus scholarships worth over GHC 9,000 each.
