The management of Berekum Chelsea are preparing to replace their head coach Hans Van Der Plyum after Sunday’s Caf Champions League match against TP Mazembe, Goal.com Ghana understands.
Van Der Plyum will be offered a new role at the club as Technical Director but it is not too clear whether he will accept it.
The Dutchman was unable to guide the team to defend their GLO Ghana Premier League title.
He led the team in their maiden appearance in the continent’s elite inter-club competition, but they failed to go pass the group stages.
Chelsea’s final group match against TP Mazembe on Sunday is just for pride since Al Ahly and the Congolese have already secured the semi-final slots in the group.
Officials of the club are seriously in the market looking for a new man to lead the team in the upcoming season.
They first contacted Amidaus Professionals coach Tony Lokko but the former Tema Youth coach is bent on continuing with his project after leading Amidaus to their debut premier league campaign a few weeks ago.
