The 20-year-old winger said he is still learning, and it will be out of place to compare him to Argentina’s dribbling maestro
“Messi is Messi and I am Christian Atsu Twasam,” he told Kumasi-based Hello FM.
“Though we might have some things in common, we are two different players. I am still learning.”
He added: “The comparison is not affecting me in any way and I am well focused in building my own image and helping the Black Stars and my club to greater heights.”
The highly talented Atsu was once again the man of the match as Ghana beat Malawi 2-0 in a South Africa 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday.
Atsu was groomed at the Gomoah Fetteh Feyernoord Football Academy and the Abdul Hayye Yartey-owned Kasoa-based Cheetah FC before he was transferred to FC Porto.
