The midfielder has made little progress on his shoulder injury and team doctors have advised he stays out in the Afcon qualifier against the FlamesBlack Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu will miss Ghana's first leg 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Malawi on Saturday.
The 21-year-old failed to recover from a muscle injury on his shoulder and will not play any part in this afternoon’s game at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The national team doctor Adam Baba confirmed the injury situation to the press on Friday.
“He came with an injury that we thought could subside before the match,” the doctor said. “We examined him and monitored him when he came to camp.”
“On the second day his condition was stable, but not much progress has come out. We could risk him but we just felt he should stay out,” Dr. Baba said.
The match will come off at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday afternoon at 15.30 GMT.
