The midfielder has expressed his gratitude to the technical handlers of the national team and hopes to impress against Malawi and Liberia in SeptemberChievo midfielder Isaac Coffie has said he excited at his debut Black Stars call-up and clearly shows he needs to keep up his form.
The 20-year-old was included in the 24-man squad released by coach Akwesi Appiah for the double header next month.
The Black Stars will play against Malawi in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 8 before taking on Liberia in an international friendly in Monrovia three days later.
Coffie had a good campaign last season when he went on loan at Serie B side Sassuolo from Genoa.
He featured in almost all the matches of the second-tier side and got them very close to a Serie A qualification.
His first international game was for the Black Meteors in the return leg of the All Africa Games qualifier against Nigeria in Kumasi.
The midfielder said he is grateful to the technical handlers for inviting him.
“I am very happy and ready for the challenge because I think it has come at the right time. I have worked with Kwesi Appiah before with the Black Meteors and he knows what I am made up of,” Coffie told Accra based Radio XYZ.
He joined Serie A side Chievo just this summer.
