The defender has extolled the virtues of the fans of the Reds and stated returning to his root makes him “feels great”Ghana international John Paintsil is optimistic all will go well with him in Israel as he gets set to join his former club Hapoel Tel-Aviv.
The defender arrived in Israel on Sunday for medicals and might ink a one-year deal with the Reds.
The 31-year-old, who did not make it in the 18-man squad for the China friendly on Wednesday, said “I feel great. It is always good to get home, the team helped my career a few years ago.”
“I cannot say much about my contract, but will be okay,” Paintsil told MTNfootball.
The guardsman averred he had a chance to return to the English Premier League, but decided to return to his root to appreciate the fans.
“I had a chance to play Premier League, but it is always good to remember the people who helped me here in Israel,” the former Fulham defender said.
“This country gave me a lot, not only the fans, but the people of Israel gave me a lot of respect.
“I’m excited to see the Red fans. They are always amazing and appreciated my abilities. I love them and cannot wait anymore to see them.”
