We’re ready to conquer Africa in Caf Confederations Cup – New Edubiase CEO Abdul Salam
The newly crowned FA Cup champions have given the strongest indication that they are poised to cause a stir in Africa’s inter-club competition following their recent feat
The management of New Edubiase has served notice they will fully participate in next year’s Caf Confederations Cup after winning the MTN FA Cup to grab Ghana’s slot in the competition. The CEO of the club, Abdul Salam, said they have been motivated by Caf Champions League debutants Berekum Chelsea and will also take the continent by storm.
“'We will compete in Africa,” Salam told Goal.com Ghana. “We are going all out to conquer Africa.”
“'When we started this project, I never stopped believing that we were going to be successful. We were lucky we had a lot of motivation from our sponsors which helped. We also put in all we could to push our boys who were determined to do something significant for the club,” he noted.
Edubiase beat Ashantigold 1-0 in the final of the knock-out tournament to progress to the continent’s inter-club competition.
Salam said despite the absence of their talisman Emmanuel Baffour they will soar in their maiden appearance in continental football and will prove their critics wrong.
“It’s about team work and we have built this club on all shoulders so we’ll make it in Africa even without Emmanuel [Baffour],” he stated.
